It started in the summer of 1999.
Five guys, veterans of the Dallas music scene, decided to get together at the now defunct
Last Beat Studios to play as loudly as possible, just to see what happened. In three hours there were four new songs... loud, fast, full of angst and aggression... It was something that the scene had been missing. More songs were written and the first show was played, a direct support slot at Trees with The Reverend Horton Heat on Xmas night 1999. Soon after, songs were polished, demos were recorded, and a deal was struck to release a split CD with punk rock legends Fang and Dr. Know on HELLO Records. That release, Fish and Vegetables, was met immediately with positive reviews, and The Hellions were truly born, sharing stages around the country with bands like Suicidal Tendencies, Misfits, Gwar, D.I., Marky Ramone and the Intruders... wowing audiences with their raw energy and aggression, drawing in new fans with solid hooks and incredible shows. In 2001, the first full length was released, also on HELLO records. The CD's sold out of multiple pressings and garnered positive reviews. After hundreds more shows and several independent releases, The Hellions haven't lost an ounce of that energy, grabbing audiences by the throat and dragging them through the pit, and fans can soon expect new music for their next release on Mean13Records.
